Thank YOU for being a grand part of it, and for trusting us to continue doing what we do best: celebrating love and heritage, through journeys of becoming.

Last week, we were on board the Eastern & Oriental, a magical journey that has fuelled countless love stories. We wanted to share snippets of our journey with you.

I think the one thing that caught me by surprise was how emotional I was in the lead up to the release of the movie. And I think a large part of it was because Crazy Rich Asians is more than just a movie. It gave us hope that our stories could one day be told, not only in Asia, but all over the world.

On a bright Sunday morning, the Choo Yilin team met with the beautiful Sherlyn Chan to unveil her custom Choo Yilin bangle. We took this time to have some tea and chat about the journey of creating a one-of-kind jewellery piece that’s designed to suit her vibrant personality and unique style.

It was a normal morning, and yet, it was also so wondrously special. It struck me then, that the congruence of our cultures strengthen our relationships, our bonds. I marvel that all of this came to be, where I was born and raised, and I am both humbled and proud.

So much of the brand’s inaugural Kebaya Collection came to be not only because of the inspiration and information in late Datin Seri Endon Mahmood’s book, a tribute to the iconic Southeast Asian dress.

Few people know this, but my name in Chinese characters, when translated into English, means "moving towards beautiful jade" - Yilin.
